Home Decor

Last weekend when I was doing a little bit of shopping with my sister I found an adorable wood frame with 9 compartments, similar to a painters tray. (I forgot to take a before picture, oops). I love how it turned out. It's going to hang in our bedroom.

I used lots of Pebbles goodies on this project from the Family Ties line.

Thanks for stopping by! Do you have a home decor project that you've created? I'd love to see it. Leave a link in the comments and I'll make sure to stop by and take a look :)

I realized I never....

I never did share the entire layout that I did for Shimelle for National Scrapbook Day. I was so excited when it launched but I couldn't share the full project on my blog for several days after NSD. I got busy and forgot to add photos of the entire layout...so...today is the day I'll share it here :)

My challenge from Shimelle was to create a layout using the cut files from 2Peas in a Bucket. I had less than 24 hours to get a project created, photographed, and emailed. It was a lot of work but I had so much fun with it!

I hope you are enjoying your Summer :)

Life Paper Scrapbook Color Challenge

Hey Everyone, thanks for stopping by today. The project I have to share today is close to my heart. If you don't already know I have 3 kiddos but I sometimes say that I have 6 kids. I get to tend my sisters 3 kiddos 4 days a week. The question I get asked most often is "How do you do it all?" The answer is, I don't do it all. I do my best to make sure the kids are happy, clean, fed, and respectful but a lot of the time that doesn't even happen. I found the quote for the title of this on Pinterest and immediately pictured this layout! It's so true, I love all 6 of these little people so much!!

I followed this color challenge for Life.Paper.Scrapbook. Manda has the best challenges and there's always a fantastic prize involved too.

lots and lots of letter stickers and lots and lots of journaling cards went on this project. I love the results :)

Insta-Memories

I'm relatively new to the Instagram world. I don't have a smart phone *gasp* but I did recently get and ipad mini. I love that little thing! I carry it everywhere and I've taken my fair share of photos instagram. I haven't used a lot of them on traditional layouts but I did have a stack of those cute little photos on my desk. None of them really went together but they did have one unifying factor, they were all instagram photos. So I decided to put them in an album titled "Insta-Memories"  I used the American Crafts Day book from the Yes, Please line by Amy Tangerine.

Here's what the first page of the album looks like:

Here's a few of the pages from the inside:
 Lots of summertime photos...

On the back of the "hello" page I created a pocket with vellum filled with confetti and stitched together.
I had so much fun with this album, I'm sure I'll make another album with instagram photos in the future! Thanks for stopping by :)

Bella Blvd Saturday Sketch

I love working with sketches! Bella Blvd always provides the greatest sketches for us designers to work with. I did switch things up with this sketch a little bit. I chose to use one larger photo rather than one bigger photo. Here's the sketch:

JuneSketch1

I used Bella's designer tape to create a dimensional border by simply folding the tape as I placed it on the paper.
I tucked a bright yellow feather to the top of the title to draw attention and add some texture. Stitching the chipboard letters down also added some interest.
I can't seem to complete a project these days without adding some sort of ink...

 And the completed project....
Thanks for coming to visit today. Have a great day :)

Modeling Paste, Ink, and Die Cuts

Hello, thanks for stopping by my blog today!
I have a fun project to share using modeling paste, die cuts, and lots of Clearsnap products.

I started my project with a die cut and a sheet of white cardstock. I placed my die cut on my cardstock where I wanted it and made light pencil marks on the edges so I would know where I wanted to put the modeling paste on.
To tint the modeling paste I simply put a spoonful on a paper plate and sprayed it with Stephanie Barnard Strawberry Spray and mixed it. I didn't want all the paste the same color so I didn't mix it completely. I left it with some light and dark streaks in it. Keep in mind the color of the paste will be much darker when it dries.
Then I smeared it on to white cardstock paying attention to the pencil marks I made earlier so I knew where to put the paste.
Immediately after smearing the paste I sprinkled it with Donna Salazar Fairy Dust Glitter and then I gently placed my die cut on top. I pressed the die cut into the paste in a few small areas to attach it to the cardstock. I then left it to dry overnight.
Here's what my final layout looks like:

Choose Happiness featured in May 2013 issue of Scrapbook Trends

This project has a special place in my heart because I truly believe the message that I recorded. I tell my kids all the time that they can choose to be happy or choose to be _____ (mad, sad, angry) depending on the situation. Life isn't always a fun party BUT even when things are rough you can choose to be happy! I actually blogged on this topic before. If you're interested in reading more about it you can find that post here.
 This banner is from Pebbles.
This project was featured in the Color combinations section of the magazine. I chose this bold color pattern so that this layout would stand out in my kid's albums.

Here's the full layout:

Thanks for coming to visit my blog today. I really do appreciate it :)

Full of Personality featured in Scrapbook Trends May 2013

If you're an avid scrapbooker I'm sure you've heard the news that Scrapbook Trends is going digital, starting with the July issue. I'm sad to see the actual hard copies of the magazine go but I'm glad that they are continuing with the magazine. There have been so many magazines that have gone out of business. I'm happy that Scrapbook Trends isn't one of them. I'm also thankful that before they went digital I did have a few layouts published.
This layout was published in the May 2013 issue, it is about my niece. She moved away recently, I miss her everyday! Last fall I got to take back to school photos with her. This is one of the photos I took. I wanted to create a unique eclectic layout that captured Ali's personality.
I gathered a stack of ribbons and trims, some cardstock, and a few embellishments. This layout was a fast and easy project.
I simply created squares on my background paper with lace and ribbon trims.
This title is just a combination of different fonts and colors of Thickers.

And here's the full layout:
Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a fantastic day!
